Every day our customers are trying to improve the efficiency of their companies, while minimizing the impact of their environments. To provide customers with the information they need to choose more sustainable solutions to their needs, ABB has pioneered the production of Environmental Product Declarations for its core products. These describe and quantify the environmental performance of a product over its complete life cycle.

These declarations are also used by ABB’s designers to improve the eco-efficiency of our products, enhancing their direct and indirect contribution to lower environmental impacts.

ABB applies the same principles to its main suppliers as it does to itself. We favor suppliers who are certified to ISO 14001 or its equivalent, and we evaluate and select major suppliers on their ability to meet the requirements of ABB’s social policy

Three ABB variable frequency drives have reduced CO2 emissions by 220 tons a year and slashed US$ 24,000 off the annual electricity bill for U.K. flooring company, Amtico. There were other benefits too.
