U.S. ABB employees support their local communities with contributions of money, time, skills and goods. Over the past year we've been involved with organizations such as the American Cancer Society, Multiple Sclerosis Society, Special Olympics and the Susan B. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

On an even more local level, we provide mentoring for students, maintenance of parks and walking paths and coaching in sports programs.

In response to the tragic events of September 11, ABB U.S. employees raised more than $300,000 in personal contributions for the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. ABB Inc. matched our contributions two for one, and added $100,000 more, to bring the total contribution to $1 million.

ABB Lummus Global donated another $271,875 to the New York Police and Fire Widows' and Children's Benefit Fund, adding $50,000 to a dollar for dollar match of employee contributions, for a total of $271,875. Goggles, dust masks, respirator masks, reflective vests and gloves were also donated to the rescue and recovery efforts.
