Don Allen is the Senior Vice President, Operational Excellence for ABB North America and Senior Vice President, Head of Group Function Quality and Operational Excellence for ABB Group.
In his North America role, Don's primary responsibility is managing the implementation of the North America Business Strategy. Additionally, Don is the North America process owner for Operational Excellence processes including the Risk Review and Account Management processes, Supply Chain Management, and Six Sigma Quality.
Don is a member of the North American EC and heads the North America Operational Excellence Leadership Team that develops and deploys key performance improvement initiatives supporting the North American businesses in collaboration with the Local Division Managers.
In his global role, Don’s primary responsibility is to lead the deployment of Quality improvement initiatives in a consistent way across the organization. He is the global process owner for Operational Excellence processes including Quality, Project Management, CCRP, COPQ, and supplier quality.
Don has over 35 years of varied business experience across a broad array of ABB organizations including Power Generation, Oil & Gas, Pulp & Paper, and Nuclear Power businesses.
Prior to joining ABB in 1970, he worked as a Process Engineer for United Technologies Corporation and Fischer Scientific. Don is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt and holds a B.S. Engineering degree from Boston University and an MBA in Economics from Western New England College.
